When You Need to Figure Things Out

When you have stuff going on in your life and you have to work out what to do, or what to say, or what you're feeling, how do you know what to do? It's really important that answers come from inside you. You can ask for advice. You can ask what other people have done in your situation. It can all be really helpful. That said, one of the best ways to discover what you really want and need is to write it out.

How do you do this?
  • Get some blank pages, a pretty journal is not necessary, a fun pen or pencil is optional.
  • Sit in a quiet spot where you won't be interrupted, not a cafe in a small town where someone you know could walk in. Turn off your phone or put it on silent and put it where you won't see it.
  • Make a commitment to write at least three (3) full pages out--this is not as hard as you think, seriously! Just keep your pen or pencil moving; if you have to, write "I don't know what to write" or "is this really going to work" or anything else, the truth within will start to pour out.
  • Sometimes this is just about expressing and exploring within. If you've written things you never want anyone else to ever read, it's perfectly ok to rip it up or put those pages in the fireplace. If you've written things you want to take action on, use a highlighter or stickers to mark the page.
Writing it out is a way of working things out from the inside out. Getting it out can be really helpful. If you're feeling angry when you start you are likely to feel the anger clear. If you're grateful, you may feel that expand and open. If you are feeling stuck, on any level, emotionally, mentally, spiritually, this can open things to move as you express what needs expressing. It's actually a very intimate exercise, intimate with yourself and even intimate with God of your angels who are with you though everything.

Writing like this is a way to bring clarity to your dreams, and healing to your heart. It's really that powerful. So simple, safe, low cost, high impact. When you heal a little bit inside yourself, you've also healed the world a little bit, too.

With blessings for finding all the answers you need in the most perfect timing, Laya
